BELFOR provided fire damage restoration services and more when flames ripped through the roof of the Weis Market in West Hazleton, Pennsylvania.

A utility worker in a bucket truck reported flames coming through the roof of the Weis Market in West Hazelton, PA. As more than 20 fire departments responded, high winds quickly fueled the flames, causing heavy damage to the local grocery store. A nearby pet store also suffered smoke and water damage. All employees, customers and animals were safely evacuated from the stores.

BELFOR Property Restoration was on site within minutes to provide EMS (emergency response) services – board up, water extraction, structural drying, selective demolition, structural cleaning and debris removal.

The scope of the project also included:

• Product and contents removal – all product in the store was disposed as a precaution.
• Shelving – removal, cleaning and storage of all store shelving until the store was ready to be rebuilt.
• HVAC System Cleaning – performed by DUCTZ of Greater Poconos, a BELFOR franchise.
• Final Cleaning – deep cleaning of store prior to reopening.
