A sudden microburst brought heavy rain (approximately two inches of rain in 30 minutes) and powerful winds that partially ripped the roof off of the Immaculate Heart High School, a private Catholic School founded in 1930 by the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The microburst caused significant damage to school hallways and 11 classrooms (including science labs). Approximately 50 percent of the 44,000-square-foot facility was affected.

BELFOR quickly mobilized 60-plus workers to extract the water, stabilize the environment and perform emergency services. To minimize the disruption, students and classes were moved to a temporary location while repairs were made to the building.

“BELFOR wasn’t just a general contractor throughout this three month restoration/upgrade project, they were truly a partner in helping us minimize the potentially disruptive eects of this disaster on the education of our students. I am especially appreciative of our project manager and project superintendent , who were personally invested, available 24/7, and very accommodating of our needs.
Thank you, BELFOR!”
