BELFOR Donates Shields For College of Florida Keys
Florida Team Builds Protective Barriers For College
Dr. John Gueverra, president of The College of Florida Keys (CFK), reached out to General Manager Jason McGlinchey with a problem in the middle of June. Given the geographical constraints of Key West, relative to the mainland of the US, the college was finding it impossible to acquire any rigid clear shields for their campus.
The college must adhere to the CDC guidelines and all state requirements, and one of these is to have clear barriers that they can utilize at all reception areas for administration and reception activities. To reopen, the college needed was for (12) 32″x36″ barriers. Without being able to acquire the product locally, CFK would not be able to open for the fall semester.
BELFOR Florida quickly went to work to see if they could acquire the materials. Once the materials were acquired, BELFOR Account Managers Jason McGlinchey and Charlie O’Connor decided to go above and beyond the request of the college and custom make all (12) of the barriers. They even hand delivered them to the college.
“College employees are preparing our facilities to safely reopen. However, it has been challenging to acquire some materials and equipment needed,” said Dr. Gueverra. “We are grateful to our partners at BELFOR for quickly coming to our aid. Their donations will help us create a safer campus environment for our students, employees, and community.”
