Over the years, BELFOR Akron has completed several projects at the I-X Center. In fact, we received the Phoenix Award for Innovation in Reconstruction from the Restoration Industry Association for restoring the Columbus Convention Center after a water main break caused significant damage just a few days prior to a large meeting. Luckily, our disaster restoration crews were able to respond and restore the facility in time to host the event.

BELFOR Akron has also restored several local Colleges and Universities in the area, including one campus where smoke and soot damage from a fire affected 11 buildings on campus.

When a two-alarm fire caused extensive damage to Ellet High School, including the woodshop/carpentry classroom, BELFOR performed emergency fire damage mitigation and renovations. At the request of school district administration, BELFOR worked closely with Ellet High School students in the Construction program to provide them with real-life project experience. The students were able to draft construction plans and help with the rebuild.

Michelle Kirda Recognized By NOAA

Michelle Kirda, BELFOR CRM in Akron, was acknowledged for her work with the Northern Ohio Apartment Association (NOAA). Michelle is a President’s Club member who has been involved with NOAA for 12 years.

“NOAA represents multifamily owners and managers with interests in more than 150,000 suites throughout 36 Northern Ohio counties. NOAA recognizes Associate members that go above and beyond to support NOAA.”

To become a Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Kirda completed 100 hours of study, advanced courses and rigorous exams.
