Efficiently clean the surfaces of your property with our Soot Removal Film (SRF)
Cleaning affected surfaces is time-consuming but necessary.
About the BELFOR Soot Removal Film
Our SRF process offers a dry-cleaning alternative for walls, ceilings, and wooden surfaces that has proven to be very successful.
In addition, SRF proves practical in real-world applications:
- Easy to Handle: Simply spray the liquid onto surfaces to sanitise and create a protective film.
- Efficient Coverage: Allows for quick spraying of large areas.
- Fast Drying: Typically dries within 1 to 24 hours, forming a solid film.
- Versatile Use: Effective against various types of heavy surface soiling, not just soot deposits.
At BELFOR, our soot removal film offers:
- Effective and Environmentally Friendly: Leaves no dust or residue.
- Prevents Soot Smearing: Unlike vacuuming, which can spread soot.
- Minimal Water Use: Binds acidic deposits without significant water use.
- Protects Surfaces: Prevents contaminants and chlorides from penetrating surfaces or materials.
- Reduces Need for Enclosures: Often eliminates the need for costly enclosures.
- Non-Destructive and Non-Corrosive: Safe for delicate materials.
- Encapsulates Contaminants: Safely disposes of contaminants, including mold spores.
- Ideal for Sensitive Environments: Perfect for heritage sites, artifacts, or delicate stonework that could be damaged by harsh chemicals.
- Efficient Waste Management: Requires no full wall drying and produces minimal aqueous waste along with small amounts of solid SRF waste.
Why Work With Us
Discover the process of applying our Soot Removal Film
We developed the Soot Removal Film (SRF) for fire restoration after extensive research.
Applying the Soot Removal Film
- The SRF is a yellowish, highly viscous dispersion typically sprayed onto the surface using a special machine due to its thick consistency.
- For smaller areas, you can also apply SRF with a soft brush.
- After application, the film requires 1 to 24 hours to dry, depending on the conditions.
- Higher temperatures and strong ventilation can speed up drying, while higher humidity may slow it down.
- Once dry, the film is ready to be stripped off.
- Lasting Cleaning Effect.
- The effectiveness of the cleaning varies based on the surface type and the extent of soiling.
- SRF works well on dry or slightly tarry surfaces like concrete, brick, stone, plaster (depending on its texture and structure), emulsion paint, and wood.
- In most cases, you can repaint the treated surfaces directly without additional prep work.
