Craft instructions
Create a DIY Christmas tree decoration out of old paper! Ideal for anyone who wants to set sustainable touches or simply craft something small with their children.
What you need
- Newspapers, books etc. ( approximately 2 A5 sheets -> depending on how tall you want the angel to be)
- Yarn
- A large bead (e.g. wood)
- Glue stick
- Hot glue gun
How to make it
- Lay the paper crosswise in front of you on the table.
- Fold the paper like a fan. The closer the gaps between the individual folds, the more voluminous the fan will look. (approx. 1 cm)
- Once this is done, fold the fan in the middle and glue it together using a glue stick. Leave a small opening at the crease. You must fit the yarn later through it.
- The angel’s skirt is now finished.
- Now take a second piece of paper and place it upright in front of you.
- Fold the short side upwards and cut the piece of paper at the fold.
- Place one of the two pieces upright in front of you.
- Fold this piece of paper again like a fan.
- Crease it briefly in the middle.
- Hold the fan in the middle with your thumb and forefinger and fan out both sides to create a bow tie.
- Take a piece of yarn and thread it through the opening created when you folded the skirt.
- Knot the skirt together with the bow tie.
- Glue the bead onto the angel as a head using a hot glue gun.
- take another longer piece of yarn and thread it back through the opening that was created when you folded the skirt. Knot the ends together to create a loop.
- Optional: Decorate and embellish the angel.
