BROOKDALE CLEAR LAKE

BELFOR restored the Brookdale Clear Lake Senior Living Center in Texas after Hurricane Harvey wind-driven rains caused water damage to 186 rooms and common areas.

THE PROBLEM

When Hurricane Harvey caused unprecedented flooding along the Texas coast, wind-driven rains caused water damage to 186 rooms and common areas in the Brookdale Clear Lake assisted living facility in Webster, TX.

Category 3 water flooded the first floor of the facility, requiring all suites on the first floor to be 50-65 percent gutted. On the second and third floors, exterior walls and some of the flooring had to be removed.

THE SOLUTION

Brookdale Senior Living is a RED ALERT Premium Plus client of BELFOR. As a result, more than 180 BELFOR employees from Texas, Nevada, Arizona, California, Georgia, Ohio and Colorado were dispatched to immediately work on the project. Water extraction, dehumidification, demolition and reconstruction services were completed in 60 days. Most residents were able to remain in their units (homes) throughout the remediation process.
